TV for HW & Spanish Updates!!

1.  Yes...Your child should watch TV tonight and find some persuasive devices/tactics used in the commercials!

2. Spanish Update

Dear parents, if you haven't checked out our Westchester Spanish page in a while, please do! I keep it updated with each unit we are studying and try to get some pictures and work samples on there as well. Ms. Nation is working on getting a link to the page on the Westchester main page as well.

Our vimeo site is: https://vimeo.com/wespanish
There are some ebooks that we created in class uploaded there.

¡Gracias y disfrĂștalo!

Student Led Conferences: A Message from Ms. Lofstrand

Parents,

CSD grade reporting for Term 5 for K-5 school is through Student-Led Conferences.  We are excited to incorporate SLCs into our work here at Westchester!  An Expeditionary Learning Core Practice is to communicate studentachievement in various ways; one of them being student-led conferences.  Because students run the conferences (with teacher support), these conferences will take place during the school day on March 28th and 29th.  I want to give everyone enough notice about these conferences so that work-schedules might be accommodated.  If you are still unable to attend, please email me (rlofstrand@csdecatur.net).

Please click on this Sign-Up Genius link: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/20F094BA5AA2DAAFA7-student
Find your teacher's time slots (each teacher has 5 slots every 20 minutes) and sign-up.
More information about these SLC's will be sent out closer to March 28th and 29th.  Contact me if you have any questions/concerns.

A Quick Note!

3 Things!

1. We will be going to the Tellus Museum on Thursday. The children will have time to visit the gift shop, so you can send your child with money if you like. Please talk to your child about keeping track of his/her money and spending it wisely!

2. Thank you so much for attending the Celebration on Friday! The students were so excited and proud to share their work! (Look Below for photos from the celebration!)

3. Ms. Gwaltney is collecting $7 for recorder orders. (You should have seen a flyer come home)
