Term 4 Week 6!

Hello Everyone,
  Today you will (should) see several graded assessments in your child's red communication folder. Ask your child about what they know about how light works, or ask them about the Constitutional Convention and the Preamble! You'll be super impressed!
There is new HOMEWORK THIS WEEK! Please allow your child to work on The Bill of Rights assignment in Google Classroom! There are several websites with games they can play. This will help them to remember the 10 Amendments !

  We are wrapping up Term 4 in the next 2 weeks. Here is the breakdown:

Math: Fractions (+, -, X) with like denominators, simplifying fractions

Reading: Poetry, prose, drama...Identifying theme and backing up our ideas with evidence from text.

Science: SOUND

Social Studies: The Bill of Rights, Branches of Government

Writing: Re-visiting narrative stories, practicing academic writing using the RAPP strategy..(ask your child if he/she knows how to do this!)

Term 4 Week 5!

It's been a whirlwind each week with all this WINTER happening. Personally, I'm good with the snow at this point. I moved to the beautiful south to get away from it.....

We've been busy catching up and I wanted to say THANK YOU for helping me to get some of the work done at home with Google Classroom. Here's what we've been up to this term:

Math: Fractions (comparing, addition, subtraction, multiplication)
Reading: Comparing prose, poetry, drama, myths, legends and determining theme. The students have written some great poems.
Writing:  Editing, Revising, and crafting narrative writing
Social Studies:  Articles of the Confederation, Great Compromise, 3/5 Compromise, The Preamble, The Constitutional Convention..... up this week Bill of Rights!
Science: Light and Sound, Scientific Process, How we express scientific findings


Genius Hour has been filled with SLIME MAKING! We are currently creating Slime stories/dramas and we are making Imovies with our 'Slimy Characters"
