Animal Adaptations!

Hello!
Thank you all so much for the books from our book fair! I really appreciate it! :) Also, thank you for signing up for Parent Teacher Conferences. It's been fun showing you what your children have been working on.

Science:
This week we had our Kickoff for our Fall Expedition! Ask your child to tell you about the animal adaptations we experienced on Tuesday! The students are learning about how plants and animals thrive in the regions of Georgia. On October 14th- we will visit the creek with the help from The Wylde Center in order to examine what kinds of plants and animals are found in our own habitat.
**** If you'd like to help, look for a Shutterfly update and sign up coming soon...

Math:
Students are finishing up our addition, subtraction and rounding unit and we will begin Multiplication next week.

Reading:
We are working on Book Clubs and having rich discussions about what we read.

Week 4!

Hello Everyone!

Week 4 has gone by quickly and we are settled into daily life in room 212 nicely. The children are wonderful helpers and listeners. I'm a lucky lady.

Reminders:
***Don't forget we are off Monday for Labor Day and then all week September 12-16 for Fall Break!

Curriculum:
This week we began our Georgia Habitats work and finished up strategies for multi-digit addition. We also wrote some pretty great Personal Narrative Seed Stories!

Next week will be a bit of review with subtraction in math and more Ga Habitats Research!

Walkers: If it's raining cats and dogs...or umbrella worthy rain, we will dismiss from the side door of the classroom. If you demand a re-count, let me know!
Here are some snapshots of our week!
