Term 5 Week 1!

Hello Everyone!
I hope you all enjoyed your vacations and stay-cations! I heard all about the fun your children had during our morning meeting. I have lots of info to share with you but I'll try and keep it short! :)

Homework

We will not be doing any word study spelling lists this term. We will have a vocabulary word set but I will be structuring the test and practice differently. Your child will give you the details soon. Since we will be working double time to prepare for Night of Expressions and Student Led Conferences our homework will be very minimal.
1. Read for pleasure or write poetry for fun!
2. Complete any work sent home. (This will only apply if your child doesn't complete daily work)
3. Play outside!

Night of Expressions

(4/7 at 6pm)

Ok, so NOE (Night of Expressions) is sort of like a Celebration of Learning in case you are wondering. Since I am new to this as well...we are learning together! Students are currently working on a presentation piece to share with you. They have several options for their 'Expression' piece.
The gist is that you will come to the designated area where your child will be performing/sharing his or her work. There will be a Black History Program starting at 6pm to kick off the evening and the BOOK FAIR will also be open throughout the evening. Your child may be presenting art, performing music or a PE routine, or participating in our Literary Cafe.
